    Anyone see anything unusual about these?

    Yes, 16 inch frames.

    Pretty unusual for 604E, have seen them in "604 Valencia's" on Japanese website, maybe hifido but i don't remember for sure.
    Not all vegetables make good leaders.

    I wonder how they bolted a 604E magnet structure to a 421 frame? Good trick, I've got some parts to swap this weekend.

    No such thing as a 421 frame.

    The 16 inch frame was used on all 15" speakers past a certain point. I've mentioned before, some late E's are actually G's, as the parts were phased in. If Altec had a part, they used it.

    I just mentioned the 421 because of the color. As you know, most of the 16" frames for 416/515's etc. were gray. It was like a joke without all the comedy to slow you down.

    I don't actually do frame surgery- But AFAIK the frames all interchange... sorry if I came across grumpy.

    BTW 418, 421, and Biflex all have white frames usually. But I never say never as far as Altec parts combos.

    If you recall, we've even encountered 416A's or 8A's in the gray/white color scheme for discussion here.
